What is Religion?

Well.. saw Da Vinci Code over the weekend. Ive never read the book before but I've heard of the crazy issues that the novel brings up. I finally watched it and I must say, a lot of the stuff it brings up are things I'm pretty sure everyones probably thought about.

All the conspiracy stuff is obviously fiction, I don't really believe any of that too much haha. But the stuff they talk about with Jesus being probably just some mortal man who had a wife and stuff all seems to make sense and is probably true. I've thought about it and all the crazy stuff that Jesus is said to do is just a bunch of stories and thats that. It ain't possible the stuff he does and unless you knew someone that was there or you were there, theres nothing that proves it true. So many people use the Bible as evidence, but come on guys, its a work of fiction misinterpreted to be fact. Who knows, maybe in the year 5000A.D., the Da Vinci Code will be used as evidence that Jesus was a mortal heh. The reality is that Jesus was probably some guy who was probably very smart politically, formed very big and great cult, and got killed for it. Enough people were probably brainwashed and so wrote the great story of the bible.

I used to be a Catholic guy, but after slowing down and just thinking about things with some common sense, believing in that stuff is like believing in Santa Claus. You just gotta just stop and think about it. Now I grew up believin in crap like Adam and Eve being the first people ever, until I grew up and learned about evolution. Only time will tell before someone finds the truth and blow the who christian/catholic faith wide open like how the evolution theory did.

This brings me to question what religions like christians and stuff really is. And the truth is, they are all cults. Huge massive cults like the KKK. So much bloodshed has been caused by "religion" (like all the killings in the middle east in the present day, christian crusades, etc), and the movie the Da Vinci Code really pointed this out. All the killings just so you can keep your religion alive and people believing it is ridiculous. Christianity and all those one-God religions are recreational drugs that give a "mental high." You pay the church, waste your time, etc. so that you can brainwash yourself into believing that you have a purpose in your life. A lotta people just need to live life. I guess its ok to use religion as a hobby, but some people smoke it too much and end up going extreme-Jihad-car-bomber.

I will close in saying that the Catholic/Christian Church is the greatest pyramid scheme ever. Imagine all the money they make from "donations" and stuff heh.

!! Well I dunno if anyone noticed this but gas prices are a little high..

I think everyone should boycott gas companies.. but we cant cause we need gas.. so them big oil companies pretty much have their way with us..

Its costing me 40 bucks to fill up my integra.. INTEGRA!! Thats like a tiny car.. man I remember back in the day (like in 2002) when gas was as low as 99 cents a gallon. I drove to orange county from LA every weekend hehe..

but now..

Juss wondering, what are the prices of everyone's gas in your area? Its about 3.40-3.50 down here in the OC..

so i guess everyone and their mom forgot to post this week, but its ok, there was midterms, presentations, and bears. oh my!

lately ive been sleeping from 5-9, then 3-7am, this messes me up all day and my usually lunchtime binge onsets major foodcoma.

i bought tickets for Pageant of Masters for August 30th, i went last year, this thing is awesome. if you guys dont know what it is, its part of the laguna beach festival of arts, its a show where they recreate paintings on stage like a slideshow, using real people, they hold their position for about a minute, and it looks super real. yeah im cultured.

they always end with the last supper, and i snuck my camera in, i konw its blurry, but those are real people on stage with a propped up background.

this year, i'll take a better picture.
definatly worth checking out sometime, it runs every summer.

alright guys, so i came late to the meeting and got stuck with friday postings, luckily i dont really go out anymore so this is something i can put down in my calendar and be like "yeah im washing my hair and posting on xanga tonight, sweet"

today i worked all day and then i got home and my new stick shift came in the mail. the other day i was driving out of my neighborhood and CLUNK, my stick shift breaks, so being clever, i duct taped a wrench onto the broken metal and had myself a ghetto stick.

Which is better?
Breast Implants or WoW?

So I read somewhere that you can pay $15-20 a month financing for breast implants. I was thinking about this, and I realized that the amount of money it costs to get breast implants is about as much as an account with WoW -- (world of warcraft). With that said, I've been trying to weigh the pros and cons between the two, because of course I wouldn't want to waste BOTH amounts of money per month -- $15-20 a month is enough for me.

Man its been a pretty busy week..

Two project classes plus all the extra stuff I do outta school is pretty tiring.. gettin about 3-5 hours of sleep a day isn't much help either

Yesturday was pretty fun.. got a lotta free shit from the career fair, went drunken bowlin, got trashed, bowled, then drove to denny's afterwards

it seems like theres never enough time to do everythin you want

Anyways, I wanna go clubbin at avalon tonight but got other fun stuff to do..

This weekend will be busy too.. Relay for life and some other stuff.. bah

another shameless cash-in on 9/11.. although i think its a big late.. and come on .. how can you really make what happened on 93 into like a 2 hour movie? jeez

It's difficult for me to concentrate in our class because, to me, half the time people don't even seem to know what's coming out of their own mouth, let alone the topic that's being discussed.

I suppose that's normal for most classes, though, right?

Well I guess I will start off with the first post for our research group. As people will see we will be discussing different topics everyday due to the fact a different person will be writing everyday.

Now I was watching the long imposed Dodger game yesterday versus the Astros I noticed a couple things that Grady Little did that bothered me. First he calls for a steal by Kenny Lofton to steal second only causeing an intentional walk to JD Drew who has been hitting better than anyone. Although it's Kent thats next up to bat he's been hitting like shit and guess what's happened he continued the trend. Next Grady called for multiple pitch outs and ended up walking Lance Berkman, putting the winning run on second. Of course next up to bat is Morgan who has been hitting nicely. Although he doesn't have the lefty righty match-up problems Tracy had, Grady is starting to piss me off.
